The little walk and the cold water running over his hands had Harry feeling more in control. The point of the evening was to enjoy himself, but he wanted to have his wits about him long enough to decide what to do with his attraction to Draco.
The attraction was nothing new—how could he not notice how kind the years had been to his former rival? What was new was them being out to a romantic dinner together. The type of meal that really was a date, and that could reasonably be followed by kissing or more. But did Harry want that? It was one thing to enjoy holiday activities together, but they hadn't discussed whether they would be physically intimate. Was Draco even interested?
Harry looked up at the mirror over the sink. His hair was still unruly and now had flecks of silver at his temples, and his glasses weren't particularly stylish. That aside, he knew he wasn't bad looking. He was flirted with, even by Muggles who couldn't be blinded by his reputation. Surely Draco wouldn't be put off by him.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a bit too much to drink and ask Draco to come back to his place? Wouldn't it be nice to run his hands through that silky hair and over that lithe body? It certainly beat going home alone and wanking off in his cold, empty bed.
Having made his decision, Harry returned to the table and filled his glass. He raised it to Draco in toast. “To us. And to enjoying the holidays.”
Draco smiled and raised his glass as well.
