The week after the Burrow was like a dream for Harry. Draco did a consultation for the Aurors which had him right on level two for coffee breaks and lunch all week. He went home with Harry every night and they fell asleep together naked and sweaty. Nilly brought fresh clothing every morning so that Draco didn't have to leave the house until they went to the Ministry together.

The weekend after included a party at Dean Thomas' flat, but then Draco had to return to Malfoy Manor for the rest of the weekend. He claimed he was long overdue to spend time with his parents, but Harry didn't fail to notice that he timed it to miss lunch at the Burrow. Mrs Weasley noticed as well and shot a glare at George before Harry could assure her that Draco simply had plans with his parents.

The next week was not a dream. At least not a good one. Harry was swamped with end-of-year forms and paperwork that all had to be completed before Friday if he wanted to take the following two weeks off to be with Teddy. Even worse, Draco had a job in the Outer Hebrides and was gone all week. Maybe that wasn't such a bad thing, Harry mused as he came home very late night after night in a foul mood. Although he suspected Draco could have improved his mood in a way that a cold, empty house did not.

When Draco sent an owl Friday morning to say that he was coming home, Harry worked through lunch to be done with work by five. Ron dragged him to the Leaky for drinks, so Harry owled Draco to meet him there. They stayed for the minimum two pints and then sneaked out the back together. Grabbing curry and beer on the way home, they prepared for a night curled up on the sofa together.
"You know what's missing?" Draco asked as he set aside his curry container and stretched his slippered feet out in front of him.

Harry could think of nothing. His stomach was full of good food and beer. A gorgeous man sat beside him. The room was decorated in full Christmas cheer, and his godson would be home from Hogwarts the next day. No, nothing was missing. He said as much, and Draco made a snide comment about low expectations that was completely undermined by his pleased smile.

"Fine. What is missing?" Harry might be content, but he wanted to know if Draco wasn't.

"A cat."

Harry laughed, but Draco looked completely serious. "Really? A cat?"

Draco gave him a sly smile. "Maybe two."
